Bridesmaids and Groomsmen

Us at another wedding. Life comes full circle, or something.

The poor suckers cherished friends who have agreed to stand up at the front of the church with us, and a little about each of them.

Bridesmaids:

Lauren Lewis (Maid of Honor)

Residence: Atlanta, GA
Strengths:  Lover of DH Lawrence; world traveler; amazing tights collection.
Weaknesses:  Moved to Atlanta, GA, so now seeing Lauren requires a plane ride and some planning.
Bio:  Grew up in Woodbridge, VA.  Met Margo first year of college and was a sorority sister.  Study buddy and willing participant in many existential angst conversations throughout college (and after).  Roommate during law school and after in DC.

Liz Boyadjis

Residence: Falls Church, VA
Strengths:  Excellent camper; great at giving piggy back rides.
Weaknesses:  Lives in Arlington, making it harder (although still super convenient) for Margo to see her.
Bio:  Grew up in West Chester, PA.  Was on Margo's freshman's hall at W&M and became ubiquitous dining hall companion and dance buddy at all parties.  In DC, frequent hiking and dining partner.

Daniella Grossman

Residence:  Minneapolis, MN
Strengths:  Bruce Springsteen fan; Gabriel Garcia Marquez scholar.
Weaknesses:  Jay Gatsby-hater; ultra-sensitive to food freshness.
Bio:  Grew up in Vienna, VA with Margo.  High school best friend, fellow debater, and co-founder of the History Club (didn't think I'd dredge that up, did you DanDan?).  Later, fellow student at W&M, roommate, and sorority sister.

Alina Kostreba

Residence:  Evanston, IL
Strengths:  True believer in the art of Tarot; world traveler; free spirit.
Weaknesses: Avid yoga lover.
Bio:  Grew up in Vienna, VA with Margo.  High school best friend and fellow crossword puzzle fanatic.  Roommate during law school.  Loves to dance, especially at Rumors.

Christyn Rossman

Residence: Philadelphia, PA
Strengths:  Spontaneous dance parties; fellow T-Swifty; extremely knowledgeable about comedians and DJs.
Weakness: Poor depth perception -- a shattered glass door at Starbucks, which Christyn may or may not have walked through, is but one example.
Bio:  Summer associate at K&L Gates 1L year; taught Margo how to write emails to partners.  Later, as an associate, Christyn brought Margo food and water and otherwise made sure she did not die in her office.

Molly Suda

Residence: Washington, DC
Strengths:  Bourbon connoisseur; fellow T-Swifty; amazing accessories.
Weakness:  Wild Turkey (and really, isn't that Kryptonite for all of us?).
Bio:  Summer associate at K&L Gates 1L year; also learned how to write emails to partners from Christyn.  Later, as an associate, Molly brought Margo food and water and otherwise made sure she did not die in her office.

Sarah Tucker

Residence:  Washington, DC
Strengths:  Ability to choose the best cocktail on the menu EVERY time.
Weakness:  10 pounds of fun in a five pound bag.
Bio:  Grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Met Margo as an associate at Cadwalader, where they frequently went out to drinks to discuss forward contracts and due diligence lists, among many other fascinating topics.

Groomsmen:

Patrick Chang (Best Man)

Residence:  Boulder, CO
Strengths:  Excellent golfer and Las Vegas trip companion.
Weakness:  Yankees fan who has never lived in New York.
Bio:  Like Larry, grew up in Louisville, CO.  Bullied Larry in 6th grade.  Became friends in 7th grade; frequent tennis and video game opponent in the twenty years since.

Chris Hart

Residence:  Denver, CO
Strengths:  Like Larry, enjoys yelling at strangers who are being jerks; excellent facial hair.
Weakness:  Likes ultimate frisbee.
Bio:  Also a native of Louisville, CO.  Friends since 11th grade. Roommate of Larry's after college during Larry's time in the Bay Area. The only single groomsman, so ladies, take heed.

Charlie Jacob

Residence:  Brooklyn, NY
Strengths:  Keyboard skills; world class things-on-internet-knower.
Weakness: Yankees fan who was born and raised in New York.
Bio:  Law school classmate of Larry's, as well as his roommate during the second and third years of law school.  Got married last summer; Larry was a groomsman, so inviting Charlie to be a groomsman was kind of, you know, an obligation.

J.P. Klingenberg

Residence:  Washington, DC
Strengths:  Impressive bourbon collection; helped make Larry a Washington Capitals fan.
Weakness:  Helped make Larry a Washington Capitals fan, which has brought Larry nothing but sadness.
Bio:  Met Larry at the same party during which Larry met Margo, which was hosted by J.P.'s now-wife, so he can kind of take credit for this whole thing.

Derek Linkous

Residence:  Chicago, IL
Strengths:  Smart, like, scary smart; expert DVR fast-forward-through-commercials-er.
Weakness:  Deadpan delivery may be mistakenly interpreted as complete lack of personality.
Bio:  Friends since first year of law school, during which Derek pretty much dragged Larry through exams.  Got married last summer; Larry was a groomsman, so inviting Derek to be a groomsman was kind of, you know, an obligation.

Joe Ptasinski

Residence: Chicago, IL
Strengths: Ability to quote The Big Lebowski; likes a ton of awesome bands.
Weakness: Also likes a ton of crappy bands.
Bio:  Friends since first year of law school.  Notre Dame undergrad, Northwestern law grad, and Polish Catholic, making him about as Chicago as a person can be.  Got married in October, 2013; Larry was a groomsman, so inviting Joe to be a groomsman was kind of, you know, an obligation.

Dan Reynolds

Residence: Nashville, TN
Strengths: Knowledge of, and ability to play, baseball; exceedingly friendly and polite (while sober).
Weakness: Reasonably virile; rapidly expanding family makes planning visits difficult.
Bio:  Friends since freshman year of college; collaborator with Larry in any number of crazy college adventures, the kind that everyone has in college but feel unique when they're happening.  Does not have rabies, surprisingly.
